What is a County Accessible Community Advisory Committee (ACAC)

ACACs are advisory committees appointed by the county legislative authority, or by agents or officers acting under that authority.

Government works only when it works for everyone. People with disabilities offer unique insights into improving the community environment. Including people with disabilities in the planning of facilities, activities and services can avoid making costly mistakes.

ACACs are responsible for making disability-related grant requests, on behalf of their communities, to the GCDE in accordance with the Accessible Communities Act.
